Tax Changes Impact Low-income

The province has changed the way that tax refunds are paid to low income people and this means that these credits are no longer being paid in lump-sum tax refunds.
Many low-income people count on the lump sum during Christmas and Easter and sell their taxes for a nominal fee.
Low-income people, thinking they could get a tax refund and are still going to tax preparers. The government failed to inform or consult with the low-income community.
